These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and TriviaStack ("TriviaStack," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your access to and use of the TriviaStack application for Slack, our website at www.triviastack.com, and related services (together, the "Services"). By installing, adding, or using TriviaStack in a Slack workspace, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Services.
If you install or use the Services on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms, and "you" refers to that organization.
TriviaStack is a trivia app that runs inside Slack. It lets workspaces play a shared daily set of questions (the "Daily Stack") and build custom trivia games by category, difficulty, and length, with scoring and scheduling handled inside Slack. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.
You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Services. The Services are intended for use within a workplace Slack workspace by its authorized members.
Installing TriviaStack requires authorization through Slack. By installing, you represent that you are permitted to add applications to, and grant the requested permissions for, the relevant Slack workspace. The scope of data we access is described in our Privacy Policy. Your use of Slack is governed by your own agreement with Slack, and nothing in these Terms modifies that agreement.
You agree not to:
You retain ownership of the content you and your team submit through the Services, such as custom game settings and answers. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to operate and improve the Services as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the content your workspace submits.
The Services, including trivia questions we author, software, branding, and design, are owned by TriviaStack and protected by intellectual property laws. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Services within your Slack workspace. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
The Services rely on third-party providers, including Slack (platform), Anthropic (content curation), Supabase (data storage), and Fly.io (hosting). Your use of the Services may be subject to those providers' terms, and we are not responsible for third-party services. How data is shared with these providers is described in our Privacy Policy.
TriviaStack is not created by, affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Slack Technologies, LLC or Salesforce, Inc. "Slack" is a trademark and registered trademark of Slack Technologies, LLC. All other trademarks are the property of their respective owners.
The Services are currently free to use. If we introduce paid features in the future, we will make the terms of those features clear before you incur any charge, and the free functionality you rely on will not start charging you without notice and consent.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information in connection with the Services and is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that trivia questions and answers will be accurate or complete.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TriviaStack will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Services will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or USD 100.
You agree to indemnify and hold TriviaStack harmless from any claims, damages, and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Services or your violation of these Terms or applicable law.
These Terms apply while the Services are installed in your workspace. You may stop using the Services at any time by removing TriviaStack from your Slack workspace. We may suspend or terminate the Services, or your access to them, if you breach these Terms or to comply with law. On uninstall, we handle your data as described in the Privacy Policy, including deletion of workspace data within twelve months of uninstall.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Services or our website where reasonable. Your continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida and the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and you agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and TriviaStack regarding the Services.
